Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP)

At Kogarah Chiropractic in Carlton, we use a number of adjusting styles. CBP is usually where I start. First of all I look at your posture. That gives me an overview of the shape of your spine.

Spinal Analysis

Next, an analysis of the spine is performed. This always involves a case history, a detailed examination of your spine including what areas are painful to you, and what areas just don’t feel like they move the way they should. Next I take x-rays of the spine, so that I know exactly where the problem areas of your spine are. Then, I explain all of my findings to you so that you can understand what needs to be corrected. At times a firm adjustment is required, and at other times a clicker, called an Activator instrument is more appropriate. The direction, speed, depth and angle that are used is the result of experience, practice and a thorough understanding of spinal mechanics.

Applied Kinesiology

That’s not all that I do. Usually I incorporate another technique that allows me to find out more about how well, or how poorly your body is functioning. It’s called Applied Kinesiology (AK), or more simply, Muscle Testing. This technique enables me to find out what nutritional supplements you need, and is greatly beneficial in cases such as ADD/ADHD, infections, period pains and other hormonal problems. By using AK, I also use a technique known as Neuro Emotional Technique (NET), which produces fantastic results with any health problems, including back pain that has an emotional aspect to it.

Nutrition and homeopathic remedies are often used if things aren’t improving within the normal time frame. This speeds up the recovery process.

Acupuncture

At times I will use Acupuncture for certain conditions. For those people who don’t like needles, I use laser, and some conditions like “tennis” elbow and knee problems respond beautifully to acupuncture. Here at Kogarah Chiropractic posture improvements are high on our agenda. We look after a lot of postural problems, mainly because it has become such a major problem in Australia. Most people have poor posture, and we have the techniques and equipment that produce extremely good results. Some of the equipment we have developed ourselves, whilst other equipment has been imported from overseas. Patients are delighted with their improvements. They look better, and they stand and sit straighter. I think it’s fair to say that nothing we do here really hurts, and we have lots of testimonials from satisfied patients. We really cater our chiropractic techniques to the individual, because everyone’s different.

Paul Lockart Asks some important questions of interest to Sydney residents - Chiropractor Sydney Paul Lockart Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
Where do most Sydney residents get their first subluxation?
Being born in a hospital is a common source of subluxation. Trauma from forceps delivery has been replaced with drugs, vacuum extraction, Cesarean section and births that are "scheduled" to fit the workweek routines of Ob-Gyns. That's why we recommend a chiropractic checkup for every Sydney newborn.
